AAC - All Aluminum Conductor

(Showing 16 of 16)

All Aluminum Conductor (AAC) is a type of overhead power line conductor made entirely from pure aluminum, typically 1350-H19. AAC wire is characterized by its high electrical conductivity, light weight, and good corrosion resistance, which makes it ideal for use in long-span overhead transmission and distribution lines, especially where ice and wind loads are not severe.

Although AAC wire has lower tensile strength and higher thermal expansion compared to other conductors like ACSR (Aluminum Conductor Steel Reinforced), it has the advantage of being lighter and easier to handle. This feature, combined with its cost-effectiveness, makes AAC a preferred choice for installations where high mechanical strength is not a critical factor.
