Description
SNEEZEWORT is one of a large range of standard all aluminum conductor (AAC) wires, used primarily for overhead power transmission and distribution. Its very simple composition of nearly pure stranded aluminum makes it more flexible, lighter, easier to work with, and more conductive than AAAC or ACSR alternatives.
Features:
- Single stranded conductor is flexible and durable
- All aluminum construction is relatively lightweight and cost-effective
- Higher corrosion resistance than ACSR
- No insulation or jacket
Applications:
- Overhead power transmission
- Extra High Voltage (EHV) transmission lines
- Primary and secondary distribution
- Sub-service spans down to private premises
- Maintains high ampacity
- Suitable for shorter spans on towers and poles
Construction:
- Minimum 99.5% pure aluminum alloy 1350-H19
- 250 kcmil (MCM) conductor
- 7 strands, concentric-laid in layers around a central wire
Standards:
- ASTM-B230 for aluminum 1350-H19 wire for electrical purposes
- ASTM-B231 for concentric-lay-stranded aluminum 1350 conductors
